Women and Computer class has been an eye opener for me. I have enjoyed this class. I believe my knowledge about making a blog and making web page has made me grow. I think I was able to get out of my comfort zone and try new things to connect with other networks. I liked this class for letting to express myself in a different.
I have been able to take something I love and be able to show it to mass groups of people. I think this has been an great for me. I was able to take making movies and be able to show it on the TV instead of playing the film on the computer. I think this class has given me the tools that I can carry on in my career and future. I was able to take away better sense of making network and be more creative. Overall, I have enjoyed this class. I believe I have been able to test myself to reach out more and not be so nervous in making a web page. I think anyone who can take this class should. This class will improve your way of thinking..

Digital Divide:What you should know?
Digital divide with minorities is what I research. I think that digital divide is very complex and its not as easy then many other scholars says. I think we need to look that the struggles and overcoming the barriers that many minorities' groups faces. From my research I looked at minorities with sub-topics like women of color, disabilities, and class status. I think we can't talk to about this without talking about other elements that divide people with technology that everyone should have the right to.
When we look at women of color they have low amount of them using digital technologies. When I look many articles talking about women of color and digital divide. I think it is very important about struggles and the gaps that are created. I think we should look at women whose struggles with trying to get educated to use digital technologies. I wonder if we can be opening dialogues to fit this problem. I think we can't wait for a organization to do it or the government to see it. I think we have to change this or we will have generations gap that will keep getting bigger.
When we look at disabilities and minorities they have struggles to get accesses to technologies. I think one power article I read was called "Digital Divide versus Digital Inequality" were it talked about really how these two element go hand in hand. I thought this article went in depth about the problems that many government ignores from their people. It talked about the government not opening their eyes to the struggles only hurts the people and future kids. A website that talks about this problem about generations gaps is the http://www.digitaldivide.net/.
Finally, we need to talk about class status and digital divide. Many times we forget that class status can give us more power with technologies and oppress others too. I think we take look at immigrants and native born people in this country. I thought we don't focus on this when we really should. I think we need programs that children whom need computer and don't have access unless they are in school. They should be able to have access to it no matter the situation. I think our government fails in that and don't see the gap that is creating or don't care to fit it. I think thats where we need to open our government's eyes to this problem. I think we need to that before this situation gets worst.
Overall we can see that one to fit the problems is talking about digital divide. One way is using technologies to spread the word and make coalitions to change it. I think if we make a voice and not settle for less from our government then we can build better future. I believe we shouldn't wait for someone to that, but make a small changes by talking about it and educated ourselves as well. I think that when we will make dreams that aren't real, but able to reach them too.

Interview with Nadine Moawad on Vimeo
I think when Nadine Moawad was talking about gender and internet I thought it was helpful. I think what she was saying was so powerful for women to know. I think what she was saying open to mind about the freedom I have to use the internet and I think she had alot to offer about how gender and sexism can play a role when using the internet. I wouldn't thought about worrying where to go find internet or that i would be limited either. I think that is so power there as well. One thing that Nadine Moawad said was about how internet cafe weren't welcoming for young women to go to. I thought that was crazy. I thought something should be open when they are public, but when using the internet in Lebanon has more sexism toward their women. Which I think be harmful then helpful for the women there. I think this creates gap and disavantage people in ways that only hurt the country in the end. I think Lebanon needs open the door for women to have fair accesses to the internet and open the door for discuss to it's people. I think if the country the internet policy to be open they would have better success in techonology world. I think it should be looked, because I think the country will far behind from every other country. I think in this generation we can be sturbborn about the internet and use it to control people. I think this only the country as whole then everything. I think she had every good poimts about how to change the accesses to women and changing how women are valued in Lebanon. I think it needs to come the people in this country and not from outside. I think they will get further that way then looking for ouside forces.I think this topic is important to hear about and I think coalition should be created in a way to lean a support for them. I think this will be a great movement and create a space women to be heard.
Class and gender impact youth internet use
I think this article by 'The Local' open my eyes to different way of thinking about the internet. I read this article thinking I didn't think that gender or class has impact with youth. I think after reading it I believe some of that view has changed. I think we should look at these two elements and the impact they might have on our young generation.
"Although 92 to 99 percent of all schoolchildren say they have access to computers and the internet at school they do not become a part of daily school life until the students are in their late teens and many thus learn to use the web at home"
I this qoute this show how fast the internet is growing in ou school areas. I think we should also look at what it means if young person doesn't have it at home. I think when its offer at school, but internet isn't at home make struggle for the young students. I think it creates gap between young and gap in our education system. I think it brings up the class issues and a new challenge for youth. I think this can oppress some groups who aren't as lucky to have it at home. I think it makes it harder for some students than others. I think we should at from tools to help out those who aren't able to have internet at home. I think governent would need to step in and make a program to help them out. I don't it should be hand out, because I think it make people ashame for a hand out. I think it should program that still can have people be proud of their status. I believe this also important for the youth to see government to care about their education and think that government values them. Either way I think something needs to work to close the gap that is being created not for the youth now, but also for the future generation.

Gender differences in the use of facebook
When I read this reading I found many interesting. I think the author had many good point about gender and how they view when it comes to facebook. The author's introduction in the beginning pulled me into the topic. I think the author looked things about the facebook very closely. I think this was very smart for the author to do. I think this was smart, because it was easy to comparison between the genders that use facebook. I think one thing I like the author said "Facebook recently surpassed Google as the most visited site in the United States and is one of thefastest growing social platforms around the world. According to the Facebook Data Team (2010)the more than 500 million users are quite active spending, for example, about seven hundredbillion minutes a month on the site and sharing more than thirty billion pieces of content eachmonth."
In this qoute I think we can see this becoming bigger than what we thought it could be. I think this shows that Facebook has stronger connection to youth and I wonder how gender can play a big role like the artilce argues about. I thought another thing that was interesting was how much people share of personal information online with facebook. They talked about how college educated shared more relationship status then graduated student did. I wondered if we get other that we want more things not to be under public eyes. I think this was an eye opener to how people view facebook any more then social network, but soceity norm in this generation. I think we can see that facebook has open doors, but I see where there is a lot problems to facebook as well. I think this program can hurt people and take away pvirate to a point. I also think we should look at how this generation is more noisy and think they have rights to know what does on in other people's lives. I think facebook started to idea that we need to know what friends where up to and I think how we can tell is by how much information is out there. I think gender doesn't play that much of a role when using facebook. I think its about the enviroment we have grew up with. I think that should taken a counted for in this study.
